iNOVPESCA Project presented its results at the World Marine Mammal Conference
Our researchers of the iNOVPESCA project, Ana Marçalo and Flávia Carvalho, participated in the World Marine Mammals Conference (WMMC19), in Barcelona, on December 9th and 12th.
At the conference, they presented the first results of the project and its objectives. The results show that the most problematic coastal arts with negative levels of interaction with cetaceans are the anchored fixed nets and the enclosure. During the project mitigation measures are being developed and tested in partnership with the fishing sector.
The iNOVPESCA project aims to reduce incidental catches of protected marine species in Algarve coastal fisheries. See more about the first results HERE.
