Lipoxygenases in marine diatoms

Wednesday, September 23, 2020
at
Anfiteatro A I Complexo Pedagógico I Gambelas Campus

Diatoms are a successful group in the phytoplankton distinguished by the ability to produce a variety of secondary metabolites, including oxylipins. We have identified and characterized lipoxygenase (LOX) sequences in the transcriptome of the diatom Skeletonema marinoi. Results have implications in ecophysiology, clarifying the pathway of oxylipins in diatoms, and in biotechnology, providing LOX with specific and unique characteristics that may open new horizon in industrial applications.

The seminar will be held on September 23, at 13:30, online via Zoom platform or you can participate in the event at the Amphitheater A, Complexo Pedagógico. Use of mask is required. Limited seats. Participants must keep 1,5 m of social distance.

Participation is free, but mandatory to register.  REGISTER HERE!
