SPECIAL EDITION: The Soundscape as potential source for artistic inspiration & social intervention
Soundscape and Acoustic Ecology are terms that were used by Truax, Krauss, Schafer, i.a., between the realms of artistic research, ecology, music, and other fields. Also referred to as soundscape ecology, it alludes to the study of the effects of the acoustic environment on the physical responses or behavioural characteristics of those living within it. It has been widely used as an inspirational source for music makers, as well for scientific studies.
