Nanomedicine approaches to improve immunotherapy

Quinta, 13 Junho, 2019
Local
Anfiteatro B | Complexo Pedagógico I Gambelas

In this seminar, we’ll be talking about modulation of the immune systems using a novel class of nanomedicines. Over the last decade, great efforts have been dedicated to the development of immunotherapies that are able to induce or boost an existing immune response against specific cells. In this seminar strategies based on the use of nanomedicine to modulate immune response are presented with a focus on cancer and autoimmune diseases.

About speakers:

Giovanna Lollo is an Associate Professor at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, working at the Laboratoire d'automatique et de génie des procédés (LAGEP).
She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Her research is focused on the use of nanotechnologies for the development of innovative medicines. In particular she works in the multidisciplary field of nanomedicine, helping to oversee the development of promising diagnostics and therapeutics projects and turn them into applications that will benefit patients.
