New on Board: Alizé Deguette
Tell us a bit about the work you are/will be doing at CCMAR.
I am working as a research fellow for seagrass restoration projects in Ria Formosa. My work involves laboratory analyses of seagrass leaves, to investigate the effectiveness of transplants and the consequences on seagrass physiology. I am working along with CCMAR's researchers in marine plants ecophysiology of the ALGAE group.
What were you doing before you joined us?
I studied the Marine Biology MSc program at the University of Algarve. In my MSc thesis, I investigated the effects of a marine heatwave on seagrass physiology.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I like to spend time in the outdoors, especially in the ocean where I never get enough of surfing, swimming, and diving. I like to travel and I am always up for a little adventure!
