Ecophysiological responses of surfgrasses to simulated marine heatwaves
Surfgrasses (Phyllospadix spp.) form highly productive meadows along the Pacific coast of North America, and are potentially threatened by the increasingly intense and frequent marine heatwaves. In this seminar, Manuel will share the results from a series of experiments conducted with the aim of understanding the ecophysiological responses of surfgrasses to different scenarios of thermal stress associated with marine heatwaves.
The seminar will be held on June 15, at 13:30, in the Amphitheatre A, Complexo Pedagógico, Gambelas Campus.
Participation is free, but mandatory to register.
About our speaker:
Manuel studies the impacts of environmental (human-induced) stressors on seagrasses since undergraduate. He is in the final year of a PhD in Mexico.
