Catarina Vinagre investigates the effects of environmental change on marine organisms, populations, and food webs, from the sub-cellular to the whole-animal level, and complex trophic networks. Her recent investigation has focused mostly on the effects of warming on coastal organisms and their vulnerability status. Her target species are varied, including corals, gastropods, crustaceans, fish and cetaceans.

About our speaker:

Catarina Vinagre is a new researcher at CCMAR and a new professor at the University of Algarve. Graduated in Marine Biology in 2002 and completed a PhD degree in Marine Biology in 2007, both from the University of Lisbon.
