TOPIC: ii this seminar we'll be talking about the captive breeding and gamete preservation of several endangered fish, and how we can use the aquaculture to preserve biodiversity

Due to several factors such as overfishing, water pollution or climate change, certain fish species have decreased their population size reaching dramatic low values. In this matter, captive breeding and/or gamete preservation become an essential tools for preserving fish populations, and this seminar will focus on the attempts for reproducing in captivity several endangered fish species such as eels, sharks or killifish.

About our speaker:

Victor Gallego is a researcher from Aquaculture and Biodiversity group (UPV, Spain) working on fish reproduction, gamete quality and sperm cryopreservation.

He is on a short-stay collaboration at CCMAR, funded by AquaExcel.
