TOPIC: In this seminar, we’ll be talking about the Biological invasions, population genomics.

The success of a biological invasion is a paradox: not only non-native environments could be different from native ones for which introduced individuals would be ill-adapted, but also founder effect should lead to reduced adaptive potential. In this study I will show how evolutionary histories and standing genetic variation defines the adaptive potential of invasive populations, reinforcing the idea that populations, rather than species, are the units to consider in invasion biology.
