Hunting for stem cells involved in bone healing
The seminar will describe our recently published work characterising cell populations in the periosteum, the membrane that lines the outer surface of bone. We dissected the involvement of different populations in healing and demonstrated that there are self-renewing populations expressing aSMA, as well as separate lineage committed populations. These studies, from mouse models, suggest there is heterogeneity in the cells that form a fracture callus, and the periosteum is a rich source of skeletal progenitor cells.
The seminar will be held on May 19th, exceptionally at 09:30, online via Zoom platform.
Participation is free, but mandatory to register. REGISTER HERE!
