Marine Biotechnology has had a great development in Brazil due to the extension of the coast, high biodiversity and a large number of researchers involved in research and teaching. This presentation reviews the diverse field of applications, which include molecular biology, cultivation of organisms, environmental biotechnology and industrial applications, and health, considering the bioactive compounds of marine origin.
