Seminário: Shining light on the chemistry of biomimetic molecular receptors

Quarta, 9 Janeiro, 2019
Local
Room 2.31 I Building 7 I Gambelas Campus

In this seminar we’ll be talking about stimulating biomimetic assemblies by light. Cucurbiturils are artificial pumpkin-shaped receptors for bio-relevant compounds, e.g., drugs, natural products or small peptides. We will discuss strategies how to combine these fascinating receptors with photoswitches in the quest for functional applications such as light-induced delivery or information processing. The science may be appealing to those who wish to enlarge their methodological toolbox and everyone else with a vivid interest in curiosity-driven research.
