New insights on the immune-modulatory roles of tryptophan during inflammation
TOPIC: In this seminar, we’ll be talking about fish health and welfare.
Dietary amino acids appear to be good candidates to improve health and survival in modern animal farming. Tryptophan, in particular, has known roles in the improvement of the immune response to infection and recent evidence indicates that several immune mechanisms are influenced by its availability. In this context, the INFLAMMAA project aims to provide a better understanding of immune mechanisms in fish fed tryptophan supplements during inflammatory conditions.
