Biofish-QoL project organized a course on Statistics applied to fisheries biology held in Quelimane, Mozambique

The ECOREACH group organized an intensive course on "Statistics applied to fisheries biology" for students, technicians and teachers from the Escola Superior de Ciências Marinhas e Costeiras (ESCMC) of Eduardo Mondlane University and the Instituto Nacional de Investigação Pesqueira de Moçambique (IIP), from 18 to 22 January.

The course was given by our researcher Eudriano Costa and had 41 participants (20 students and 21 teachers/technicians). Due to the current pandemic situation, it was carried out through the zoom, for 12 hours and addressed data organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation of results.

This initiative is part of the human resource training tasks of the institutions that collaborate with the BIOFISH-QoL project, coordinated by our researcher Francisco Leitão. The BIOFISH-QoL project is being carried out in the Estuário dos Bons Sinais in Quelimane, Mozambique, to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of these populations, and is funded by the Aga Khan Foundation and Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia de Portugal (FCT).
