Daniela joined us recently and is going to work as Responsible for the implementation of the EMBRC and also Coordinator of CCMAR-Business Unit.

Tell us a bit about the work you’ll be doing at CCMAR.
I will oversee the implementation of EMBRC Portugal by managing and developing it according to the strategy of the Board of Directors of CCMAR and EMBRC-ERIC principles. I will liaise with the Portuguese node operators by coordinating their service provision and guidance to applicants.  
Within CCMAR, I will also be coordinating the recently created Business Unit that will continue to excel CCMAR´s resources and human capital by exploiting all opportunities that might fit into CCMAR’ strategy and objectives. 

What were you doing before you joined us?
Before joining CCMAR, I was the Coordinator of the National Contact Points (NCP) for Horizon 2020 for the regional government of Brussels. Being Brussels-based allowed me to have an overview of the challenges that R&I European institutions are facing concerning the exploitation of R&I results and their overall innovation management strategy. 

What interests and hobbies do you enjoy when you are not doing science?
II enjoy the simple little things of life and probably therefore I have a special interest for food and wine. I must say that doing a wine-tasting course is currently on my to-do list!
I cannot pass without my CrossFit WOD and occasionally some salsa dancing…I guess that balances my food and wine craving!
