Tell us a bit about the work you are/will be doing at CCMAR.
I will be integrating the Communication Department of CCMAR as a Science Communication Officer. I will assist in the development and implementation of science communication strategies and ocean literacy programs that aim to increase public awareness, engagement and understanding of marine sciences.

What were you doing before you joined us?
My work experiences have been closely linked to outreach and science communication through different projects and institutions, like National Geographic Society, Universidade do Minho or several Portuguese municipalities.
My last experience was with a business and ecology consultancy agency. Its main objective was helping other entities shifting from a 'Business as Usual' to a 'Business as Natural' thinking.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
As a field biologist, I really enjoy spending my free time connected with nature, whether it's hiking, picnicking, or geocaching. I am also a foodie, so experimenting new types of food or going to interesting restaurants and bars is also my jam! On my quiet times, I like to play board games with friends and family, listening to music and comedy podcasts, and watch crime and mystery TV series (while eating chips).
