Aos Olhos do CCMAR (5th edition)
This is the fifth edition of the 'Aos Olhos do CCMAR' Photography Contest, which aims to promote and disseminate scientific stories, environments and phenomena arising from the activities of our members, using photography as a means of expression, combining aesthetics with scientific rigor. The best photos will be awarded and integrate an exhibition that will be displayed in several locations during 2020.
Important dates
Photos and videos should be sent between 15th january (9am) and 13th February (4pm) using this form.
How to apply?
- A maximum of five photos will be admitted to the competition by competitor, or team.
- (NEW) A maximum of two videos can also be admitted to the competition.
- Color or black and white photographs in JPEG or TIFF format, with a minimum resolution of 1MB and a maximum resolution of 8MB, are acceptable. Digital processing is permissible.
- Participants must submit their photos, location and a small description providing their scientific context by 4pm of February 13 through the form available HERE.
- The organization may refuse to accept works deemed to be out of context or out of format.
- The winning photos will be released on March 6, 2019 during the celebrations of the CCMAR Day.

CATEGORIES FOR THE COMPETITION AND PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Best photography;
- Best photo presented by a doctoral student;
- People's Choice, for the photograph that is more often shared and gather more 'likes' on the CCMAR Facebook page.
VOTING
The ordering of the photographs of the categories 'best photography' and 'best photograph presented by a doctoral student' will be the responsibility of the jury, based on the artistic quality of photography (ART) and its potential to tell a story of science (STORYTELLING).
The ordering of 'People's Choice' photographs will result from public voting on CCMAR's Facebook page, based on the ones that gather the most likes and shares recorded on CCMAR's Facebook page by 9:00 p.m. on March 4.
