I have a degree in Marine Biology (University of the Algarve) but I entered the communications industry in 1995 and became a journalist in 2001. Since then I have produced radio, television, press and multimedia content.
I have a special interest in scientific, cultural, social and environmental areas and in their dissemination.
At the moment I have the opportunity to combine my two experiences by working in science communication at the Centro de Ciência do Mar (CCMAR), in a project that links academia and schools with the aim of improving the quality of the school education system in the Algarve, from primary school to university, while promoting ocean literacy and marine science communication.
The BridgingAll project will create a bridge between academia and schools with the goal of improving the quality of the education system in the Algarve, from primary school to university.
Pedro joined the communication team, where he will promote CCMAR's services and activities to various types of audiences. Welcome to the team!
The BridgingAll project showed in Lisbon its training offer and the objectives for partnerships between the Centre for Marine Science in the Algarve with the schools, the Live Science Clubs in Schools, and the teachers.
Besides the experience sharing between the clubs and their partners, the meeting served as a preparation for the regional meeting that took place at the University of the Algarve on the 10th of February.
