• Tell us a bit about the work you will be doing at CCMAR.

My research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on the Indian monsoon and vegetation across the middle Pleistocene transition – as an analogue for the present climate warning. The strength of this work relies on a multiproxy approach targeting a direct comparison between terrestrial and marine tracers from IODP Site U1446, which is the exclusive way to explore the interactions of the land-atmosphere-ocean systems linked to the Indian monsoon within a common and robust chronology.

• What were you doing before you joined us?

My PhD research was developed between IPMA, IDL and CCMAR (PT) and Bordeaux University (FR). After defending my PhD in 2017, I was award a short contract at Bordeaux University followed by a post-doc grant at IPMA. My main research interest focus on understanding the response of vegetation to variations in climatic forcing over regions particularly sensitive to climate change, with the goal of developing a better understanding of how the Earth System responds to natural and human-induced perturbations.

• What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Spend all the time with family and friends that I can! Among my many hobbies and without any doubt, travelling is my favorite!! I also like spending time outdoors, workout, photography, music and cinema.
