Tell us a bit about the work you’ll be doing at CCMAR.
I will be working as a Scouting and Sponsorship Officer, meaning my mission will be to foster CCMAR's relations with industry, governmental agencies, foundations, and other relevant stakeholders, to attract business opportunities and funding resources to support CCMAR's activities. I will also be actively engaging with the members of staff to spot opportunities for sponsorships for projects or events, and to prepare applications to other sources of income, from both national and international funding programmes.

What were you doing before you joined us?
Before joining CCMAR I worked for six years as consultant for companies and business associations in a wide range of sectors, specialising in investment projects management (from applications to funding programmes to the actual implementation of projects). From 2014 I was the representative of the Portuguese National Unit of the Atlantic Action Plan, an initiative of the European Commission to develop the Blue Economy across the Atlantic seabord of the EU. Prior to that I worked for three years as an Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Officer at the University of Algarve (CRIA), and at the Industry Department of the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the EU in Brussels, in the context of the portuguese presidency of the EU in 2007.
I hold a MSc. in Innovation, Knowledge and Entrepreneurial Dynamics from the University of Aalborg (Denmark) and a BA in Economics from the University of Algarve.

What interests and hobbies do you enjoy when you are not doing science?
When I'm not working, you can find me spending time DIY-ing, running, or mountain biking.
