New on Board: Luca Antoni
Luca Antoni is starting to work at CCMAR this month!
Welcome Luca!
Tell us a bit about the work you’ll be doing at CCMAR.
My main work will involve running paternity tests and studying the genetic diversity of breeders and progenies of Holothuria mammata and H. arguinensis produced at CCMAR hatchery.
What were you doing before you joined us?
I got my PhD at the University of Southern Mississippi working on population and conservation genetics of two triggerfish species, while also collaborating on various other projects both in laboratory and hatchery settings, before going back to Italy (my homecountry).
What are your interests and hobbies when you’re not doing science?
I am very much into sports. I have been playing volleyball for over 20 years, I am an ultimate frisbee player as well as a recreational scuba diver (among the others). I am very outgoing so I don't disdain going out for a drink with friends when possible.
