Marco Cerqueira obtained his PhD with Honor and Distinction in Marine, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Algarve in November of 2016 and did his graduation in Marine Biology and Biotechnology atthe School of Tourism and Technology of the Sea of Peniche, ended in 2006. Between graduations has worked as a technician in different research projects from different fields e.g. fisheries, ecology and aquaculture, and where has gained a wide range of research interests and skills related with fish welfare and behavioural sciences. Spent some time abroad in the UK during his PhD with an award grant. After the PhD worked as an invited researcher for Angola Education Monastery developing 4 manuals of aquaculture-related issues for education. Participate as aquaculture consultant for a private company. Currently, has a postdoctoral fellow in1 project but participate as a Doctorate in 2 other projects. Scientifically, has been a co-author of 3 publications of his previous research collaborations. Published 9 articles in specialized journals and 1 paper review in his recent field of research. Has 1 chapter of a book in development to be published in June 2019 and 3 papers submitted to highly peer-review journals. Participated in the organization of 1 conference. Joined 13 international/national meetings and project board meetings with presentation of oral communications and posters. Is currently supervising 2 doctoral thesis and invited has reviewer of 3 scientific publications. Received 4 grants awards. Within his professional network has interacted with multiple co-authoring collaborators. Recently invited has guest editor from an Open access scientific journal.
