O Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR) é parceiro em dois grandes projetos, financiados pela União Europeia, através de fundos H2020, o PerformFISH e o MedAID. Ambos os projetos serão desenvolvidos por equipas do CCMAR, durante os próximos quatro e cinco anos, respetivamente.
A research team from CCMAR is carrying out two important workpackages, that are considered very important for the european aquaculture project: medAID.

Leonor Ferrão and Diogo Dias carried out their master's thesis at CCMAR's AQUAGROUP and won the award "Merit MSc Fellowship in the academic year of 2019/2020".
The inclusion of plant ingredients (such as soy) in fish diets is increasing. However, these diets are limited in the amino acid methionine and require supplementation to fulfil fish nutritional needs.
